Booking a private chef in Dubai

What is included in the price?

Ingredients, cooking, service and clean-up. Dishware hire only if your home needs it. The chef buys and brings the ingredients, serves each course and cleans the kitchen before leaving.

How much does a private chef cost in Dubai?

Set menus start at AED 400 a person for two guests, and the rate per person comes down as the table grows. Each menu shows its price for your number of guests before you pay. Ingredients, cooking, service and clean-up are included. A menu planned with Trés Amis runs from five to nine courses, from AED 495 a person.

How many guests do I need?

Two is the minimum for a set-menu dinner. There is no fixed maximum — each menu sets its own upper limit, shown on the menu before you book.

Does the price change with the number of guests?

Yes, and it comes down. Menus are priced per person on a ladder, so a larger table pays a lower rate each. The menu card shows the starting rate, and the exact rate for your guest count is shown before payment.

How far in advance do I need to book?

At least 48 hours, so your chef can shop for your menu properly. Some menus built on seasonal ingredients ask for a little more notice, which is noted on the menu itself.

Where do you cook?

In your own kitchen, anywhere in Dubai. The chef cooks each course to order in front of your guests rather than arriving with food prepared elsewhere.

Can you cook around allergies or dietary requirements?

Yes. There is a field for allergies and dietary needs on the booking form, and the chef reads it before shopping for your dinner. Be specific — it is used to plan the menu, not filed away.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Full refund until 72 hours before your dinner, then credit towards another dinner. A full refund goes back to your original payment method, typically within 5–7 business days. Inside 72 hours your chef has already been paid and has started buying for your menu, so what you paid becomes credit towards another HosFin dinner, valid for six months, less any ingredients already bought. In the final 48 hours, half of what you paid becomes credit.

How do I pay, and when is it confirmed?

By card at the time of booking. Within the hour of paying, we confirm your chef. Then we agree with you the time they arrive.

What is the difference between a private chef and a personal chef?

The two names are used loosely. In the trade, a private chef is employed by one household and cooks there every day; a personal chef works for several clients, a few hours at a time. A HosFin dinner is the second kind: an independent chef comes to your home for one evening, on a date you choose, shops, cooks, serves every course and cleans up before leaving. We don't place full-time or live-in chefs.
